Thule Revolver 4 Bike Rack Review - 2003 Honda Odyssey

Today we are going to review the Thule Revolver 4 bike rack, part number TH964. And we will be demonstrating this on a 2003 Honda Odyssey. Alright, we will go ahead and start off by installing the rack into the 2 inch receiver hitch. We will install the anti-rattle bolt and it does come with a lock as well and also a tool to tighten down the bolt. Now we will take our lock. Slide it on to the end of the anti-rattle bolt. Turn the key and it is locked.

Today we are going to be reviewing the newly upgraded Roadway series bike rack from Thule part number TH912XT. This bike rack is also available in a four bike system part number TH914XT. The Roadway bike rack features the anti-sway system which combines the T3 cradles with no sway cage to help stabilize bikes during transportation. The soft rubber straps keep the bikes secure to cradles and prevent bike to bike contact. These cradles also slide and adjust throughout the arm for perfect bike positioning. The dual arm system offers excellent bike support and minimizes the need for bike adapter bars. The roadway also features the hitch switch quick release lever which lets you fold down the dual arms when they are not in use. Today we are going to show you part number A30404 from SportRack. What we have here is a folding 4-bike carrier for 1-1/4 inch and 2-inch receiver hitches. And this model is the SportRack Escape 4. And we will go ahead and install this on a typical 2-inch receiver hitch and show you how it works. To show you how to convert this to a 1-1/4 inch receiver, it is pretty easy. This bushing is basically a press-on fit. So you can just take a screwdriver and just kind of pry it away a little bit and it comes apart. And there you have it, it is ready for a 1-1/4 inch receiver hitch. Next we will go ahead and install it on a typical 2-inch receiver hitch. When you install it in the receiver hitch you actually have two options. You actually have two threaded holes in the shank to go ahead and install your hitch bolt to go into it. You have about a 2-inch difference between the two holes, so you have enough room between different hitch and bumper combinations. Just take your hitch bolt and it just threads right in. And let us go ahead and tighten it down - use a three-quarter wrench. And then you can install your safety pin on the other side. Next we will show you the tilt feature of this bicycle rack.
